Many that would claim "illustration" as a living toil in anonymity working for advertising agencies or the art departments of various publications and even film studios. Others, such as Drew Struzan (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc.) and Alex Ross [The Academy Awards, Kingdom Come, Spider-Man 2 (titles)], achieve a sort of celebrity status because the work they do for other companies and to help promote other people's products transcend their original purpose, becoming highly collectible pieces of artwork because they represent the artists' unique, inimitable styles.
